Pay Attention! is a creation of
Dr. James Brewer Stewart. We are a grassroots, diverse group of Twin Cities-based artists, advocates, academics, and community allies who work for racial justice. We believe that injustice for one is injustice for all. Ignoring or being ignorant about the underlying and pervasive effects of racism can no longer be the way forward. As a community, we must Pay Attention!, become informed, and collaborate to promote the common good.

OUR MISSION
Making Racial Justice Real
To acknowledge our racial history, understand its impact on the Twin Cities, and promote change — through education, community engagement, and storytelling — for a more just future for all.
Our three focus areas are Education, Community Engagement, and Storytelling. These are our building blocks.
EDUCATION
To acknowledge and educate about the harmful events and decisions of our past, specifically African American history, that have led to the systemic racism experienced today
COMMUNITY
ENGAGEMENT
To publicize and make connections with organizations that do racial justice work, promote businesses owned by persons of color, and support the Rondo Community
STORYTELLING
To invite truth-telling using multiple art forms that share stories of reflection, resilience, growth, and hope
